The Gift Horse Gallery story began in 1999 when Dorothy opened ‘The Gift Horse Gallery’ during the first development of the Horse and Jockey hotel. Dorothy had oodles of experience in retail and was becoming interested in something more refined and beautiful than the norm. The Gallery began as a collection of interesting Irish art, beautiful ceramics and craft. Over the years this evolved into a wider collection of gift, homeware and lifestyle.
2011 Saw the opening of The Gift Horse in Kilkenny by Sara Egan. Since then they have worked together gathering some very talented suppliers whose work is often with us exclusively. A very loyal customers base has since gathered - a mix of the country enthusiast and the design-led shopper.
